Research Interest:
I use principles from ecosystem and landscape ecology to understand
the consequences of anthropogenic change (e.g., land use,
climate) for terrestrial and aquatic systems. Specific interests
include historic land use and its effects on the distribution
of soil nutrients and plants, the influence of spatial and
temporal variability on plant populations, and the response
of chemical and biological water quality to weather and landscape
configuration.
Funded research: Effects of landscape-weather interactions
on the biological water quality of lakes in agriculturally
dominated watersheds.
