Research Interest:
My research in interests lie in remote sensing, physical geography and landscape ecology. In particular, I have been interested in examining differences among ecoregions in changes in landscape pattern over time. I have also been collaboarting with the USGS EROS Data Center Land Cover Trends Program in assessing land cover changes in the Mississippi Valley Loess Plains from 1972 to 2000. Other current research includes a project in collaboration with the Corps of Engineers in assessing post-Katrina forest vegetation stress in De Soto National Forest using ground-based LiDAR and hyperspectral imagery. Recent research has also included doocumenting the relationships between water quality parameters and satellite-derived NDVI.
