Research Interest:
I am currently a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the Spatial Ecology Lab at the University of Queensland. My research aims to improve existing tools for conservation planning by developing procedures to ensure that planning for conservation takes into consideration economics, landscape dynamics, and data uncertainty. As part of this research we have developed a risk assessment and decision-support framework for the allocation of funds for conservation programs. This framework involves the identification of the key processes threatening biodiversity, the actions to abate these threats, and the cost of these actions. The approach has been applied at local, national, regional, and global scales. This research is in collaboration with, and has been funded and supported by, The Australian Research Council, The Nature Conservancy, and Conservation International.
